Patriots WR DeVante Parker slams NFL for failing to identify concussion he suffered on MNF vs. Cardinals

New England Patriots receiver DeVante Parker wants an explanation from everyone involved in his concussion incident against the Arizona Cardinals. The Patriots would go on to win the game 27-13 as New England won its seventh game of the season.

All the talk post-game was about Parker's incident. After being involved in a collision with a Cardinals defender that resulted in an incomplete pass, Parker was slow to get off the ground and was clearly showing signs of concussion. The worst part is that no officials called to stop the game.

It took his teammate Nelson Agholor to jump and wave his arms at the line of scrimmage after New England got lined up for the next play for officials to halt the game. Now, Parker wants answers as to why he was nearly allowed to continue playing after such a big hit.

Given how seriously the NFL takes head hits and concussions, it is remarkable that no officials could see that Parker was visibly concussed. The fact that it took Agholor to jump and wave his arms at the line of scrimmage to ever get the attention of the officials is baffling.

With head hits and concussion at the forefront of most players' minds in the NFL, Monday night's incident comes as a big surprise. Now, the officials can't really claim that they didn't see the receiver on the ground as it was obvious he was struggling after the big hit. Watch below.

We can see the receiver is clearly wobbly as he lines up for the next play with the official right in front of what is happening. Had it not been for Agholor making a motion for the game to be stopped, the receiver very well could have taken part in that next play.

With news filtering through that an investigation is now underway as to why nothing was done about the receiver's concussion, Parker himself wants answers.

The outcome of the investigation will be rather interesting, but given how serious concussions and hits to the head are, it is astounding that the receiver was (almost) allowed to contine playing.
