Andy Murray beats Kevin Anderson to win his fourth Queen's Club title

Top seed Andy Murray put in a clinical performance to beat Kevin Anderson 6-3, 6-4 in the finals of the Aegon Championships.

It was Murray’s second match of the day after triumphing over Viktor Troicki 6-3, 7-6 (4) in a rain delayed semifinal. The Scot showed no signs of tiredness as he handled Anderson’s serve without any difficulty.

Anderson was coming into the final after hitting 96 aces in his three previous matches. Murray was unperturbed though, as he broke the South African’s serve in the fourth game of the opening set when Anderson netted a volley.

A decisive break in the fifth game of the second set for the No. 1 seed meant that Anderson had no chance of a recovery. Murray sealed the win when Anderson hit a service return wide.

With this victory, Murray joins John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick as four-time champions at the Queen’s club.

Murray was ecstatic about the win and is looking forward to Wimbledon.

"I played better as the week went on and hopefully I can continue that into Wimbledon,Murray said.

"It's great preparation obviously, but I think it has only happened six times where someone has won Queen's and gone on to win Wimbledon," Murray added.

"There are no guarantees that winning here gives you a Wimbledon title."
