"I am not coming" - Andy Murray set to skip BBC's Sports Personality Of The Year awards

Andy Murray

The 2013 Wimbledon champion has refused to attend the BBC’s sport personality of the year awards. Andy Murray would start as a hot favorite to win the award but he has refused to come to the award ceremony which will be held on Sunday.

As per reports in The Guardian, the Scot would not afford to let go of his rehabilitation program which he is taking in Florida. Andy Murray who had a surgery in his back in September has also said that he would not stop his progress of recovery and has also suggested that this would not be a snub. He has also stated that he is training every day and also has his rehab program so that he would be fit enough for the Australian open which is to be held in January.

Dailymail also reports that he is undergoing a tortuous training camp at Miami so that he would be 100% fit for the Australian Open and also tournaments after that. The 26 year old Scot has also suggested that he would not be able to celebrate Christmas with his family or girlfriend due to his rehabilitation program.

Bradley Wiggins

Bradley Wiggins had previously won the award in 2012 after winning the 2012 Tour De France and also an Olympic gold.
