Bully Ray believes WWE is still "suffering": "It's not as apparent as in the past"

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray recently discussed the repercussions of WrestleMania XL on the Stamford-based promotion's weekly shows. This year's Show of Shows was one of the greatest in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment.

The Showcase of The Immortals had some of the best matches on the roster, including The Rock and Roman Reigns teaming up to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night One, followed by the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between The American Nightmare and The Tribal Chief on Night Two.

During a recent edition of the Busted Open Podcast, host Dave LaGreca asked Bully Ray if Monday Night RAW should go back to a two-hour runtime instead of three hours.

Ray said that he felt the promotion was suffering from a WrestleMania hangover right now with their weekly shows. The 52-year-old also compared the current era under Triple H's leadership to the Stamford-based promotion's past years under Vince McMahon, saying that he does not think the "hangover" was as bad as the previous years because of the goodwill the company has built with fans.

"I will tell you this; it's not as apparent as in the past years, but the WWE is suffering from a little bit of a WrestleMania hangover right now. I don't think it's nearly as bad as past years, but there's a couple of things going on where I'm like, 'Eh, there's a little bit of a hangover!' but I think they've got so much goodwill built up in the bank within the WWE Universe that they are plowing through," he said. Bully Ray comments on the idea of The Rock dethroning Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion

During an episode of the Busted Open Podcast, Bully Ray said he was open to The Final Boss dethroning Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion. The legendary wrestler claimed that The American Nightmare does not need a long title reign like Roman Reigns.

"I would not even mind The Rock taking that strap off of Cody and making Cody chase again. I don't believe that Cody needs to have some kind of credible, long run à la Roman or anybody else. Cody's story was that of the underdog who fought through, who fought The Final Boss, who overcame The Final Boss, and finally Roman Reigns!" he said.

It will be interesting to see if the Stamford-based promotion returns to a two-hour runtime for Monday Night RAW.
