RC Lens v Arsenal FC: Group B - UEFA Champions League 2023/24
Lens and Montpellier square off in Ligue 1 on Sunday

Lens and Montpellier draw the curtains on their 2023-24 Ligue 1 campaign when they lock horns at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Sunday. Franck Haise’s men need maximum points here to secure European football as they sit level on points with seventh-placed Olympique Lyon, albeit with a stronger goal difference.

Lens' struggles on the road continued last Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Stade Rennais when the sides met at Roazhon Park.

While Haise’s side have picked up just one point from their last four away games, they will end the season at home, where they are on a three-match unbeaten run, claiming two wins and one draw since the start of April.

With 50 points from 33 matches, Lens are currently sixth in the Ligue 1 standings, level on points with seventh-placed Lyon just outside the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification spot.

Elsewhere, Montpellier were sent crashing back down to earth last time out as they fell to a 2-0 loss against AS Monaco on home turf.

Prior to that, Michel Der Zakarian’s men were on a six-game unbeaten run, picking up four wins and two draws since March’s 6-2 hammering at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

Montpellier have picked up 40 points from 33 matches to sit 12th in the Ligue 1 standings, one point above 13th-placed Strasbourg.

Lens vs Montpellier Head-To-Head

With 13 wins from the last 24 meetings between the sides, Lens boast a superior record in the history of this fixture. Montpellier have picked up seven wins in that time, while the spoils have been shared on four occasions.

Lens vs Montpellier Prediction

In what is a season-defining fixture for Lens, we expect them to go all out in search of the win as they look to book their spot in the Conference League.

Montpellier have nothing to play for and we fancy Haise’s men to come away with the desired result.

Prediction: Lens 2-0 Montpellier
