South Delhi Swimming Association organised its 6th South DelhiSwimming Meet at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Swimming Pool, SafdarjungEnclave, New Delhi where all the South Delhi schools participated.
Mr. Virender Singh, President & Mr. Ram Rattan Singh, Secretary, SouthDelhi Swimming Association welcomed all the Chief Guests andparticipants at the pool.Hon’ble State Health Minister, Ms. Kiran Walia inaugurated the meetand wished the participants. Mr. Khazan Singh, Silver Medalist, AsianGames and Arjuna Awardee was the guest of honour on this occasion.They also distributed the medals to the winners of the morning events.
Ms. Kiran Walia told that I am a Sports lover and Swimming is myfavourite sports because it is a lifetime sport that benefits the bodyand the whole person! It is a very good exercise in every manner.
Swimming is a healthy activity that can be continued for a lifetime -and the health benefits swimming offers for a lifetime are worth theeffort it takes to get to the pool. Regular swimming builds endurance,muscle strength and cardio-vascular fitness. It can serve as across-training element to your regular workouts. Before a landworkout, you can use the pool for a warm-up session.
She also told that these championships will buildup the athletes andspread the awareness in Common people before commonwealth Games Delhi2010.
