Daniel Agger may leave Liverpool if he doesn’t get more game time

Daniel Agger hasn’t started a game for Liverpool since their 1-0 defeat to Southampton in September and has said that he will look for other options if he doesn’t make his way back into the starting XI.

Summer signings Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho, along with Martin Skrtel, appear to be Rodgers’ preferred choices in his preferred back-three formation. Agger has been a target for Barcelona in the past and could consider his future at Anfield despite only signing a contract extension last season.

When asked about his decision, Agger said: “If I don’t play. If the manager doesn’t think I’m good enough, that could make me leave Liverpool.

“I’m here to play football, nothing else. So if I don’t play football, then I don’t want to be here.”

Daniel Agger had earlier stated that he wants to play Champions League football, and was desperate to help Liverpool achieve a top four position this season.

Update: Daniel Agger has denied wanting to leave Liverpool. He tweeted some time back: “Please stop all the tweets about me leaving! I’m not going anywhere! Will be back in the team soon.”
