Alex Abrines began his professional career with the Clinicas Rincon and Unicaja between 2010 and 2012. Later, he joined FC Barcelona via a trade by his former team in July 2012. An amazing transition came in Alex’s basketball journey when he was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 32nd pick in the 2013 NBA draft but he chose to stay with FC Barcelona. For this, Alex re-signed with FC Barcelona and continued his gameplay with the team, earning the title of the EuroLeague Rising Star.

Alex finally started out his NBA journey in July 2016 with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He led the team to basketball matches in opposition to several NBA groups, continuously recording great scores in terms of points. Alex played there till February 2019 and was then waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Thereafter, Alex Abrines initially signed a two-year deal with FC Barcelona on July 12, 2019. While playing with this team, he suffered from a knee injury and was forced to stop his gameplay for around four months. After the recovery, Alex returned to the court and continued playing for the group. He extended his contract with this franchise on June 30, 2021, and has committed to play there until 2026.
