Bones Hyland is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Clippers. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware and attended St. Georges Technical High School, where he immediately made an impact on the varsity basketball team.

Hyland averaged over 25 points per game in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. He earned multiple player of the year honors and was a consensus four-star recruit coming out of high school.

He committed to play college basketball at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). As a freshman at VCU, Hyland continued to showcase his offensive talent, averaging 9.0 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. This earned him a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team. Over the next two seasons, Hyland elevated into one of the top scorers in college basketball, averaging 19.5 points as a sophomore.

After his sophomore season, Hyland declared for the 2021 NBA Draft. He was selected with the 26th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets. As an NBA All-Rookie in the 2021/2022 season, Hyland carved out a nice role as an offensive spark plug off the Nuggets bench. He averaged 10.1 points in 19.0 minutes per game, while shooting 36.6% from 3-point range in his rookie season. He finished fifth in Rookie of the Year voting.

In 2023, the Nuggets traded Hyland to the Los Angeles Clippers. He has embraced his bench scorer role with the Clippers so far this season, providing an offensive boost whenever he enters the game.
