Gabe Vincent is a 6-foot-3-inch point guard who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Vincent shares a Nigerian heritage, but was born and brought up in California, USA. He attended St. Mary’s High School in his initial years and played for UC Santa Barbara in college.

After four seasons in college, Vincent declared for the NBA Draft, but went undrafted. He later signed a two-way contract with the Stockton Kings in the NBA-G-League and began his professional career.

In the middle of the 2019-20 season, the guard joined the Miami Heat and made his NBA debut. Eventually, Vincent became an important part of the Heat roster under coach Erik Spoelstra. The same season, the Heat made it to the NBA Finals and Vincent was acknowledged as the NBA-G-League most improved player of the Year.

In the 2022/23 season, Vincent was one of the most reliable players for the Miami Heat, especially in the postseason. He had his career-best season and averaged 9.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game on 40.2% shooting, including 33.4% from beyond the arc. In the postseason his numbers significantly improved and touched to 13.9 points on 41.3 % from the 3-point line, helping the Heat to advance to the NBA Finals again.

The 27-year-old has represented the Nigerian national team several times including in the 2019 FIBA World Cup held in China.

The 27-year-old guard is set to earn $10.5 million for the ongoing 2023/24 NBA season. In the free agency market of 2023, Vincent got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and was rewarded with a three-year $33 million deal. This is much higher than he was making in Miami. The guard is expected to play a crucial role for the Lakers this season.
