Jalen Green is a professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Houston Rockets in the 2025 NBA season. The Houston Rockets selected Jalen Green as the second overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. Green averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in his rookie season. In the same season, Green also participated in the Slam Dunk and finished third. The 2024-25 season is Green's fourth season with the Houston Rockets, averaging 21.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, as per Basketball Reference. Along with Alpren Sengun and Dillon Brooks, Green has led the team to their first playoff in five seasons.

From high school, where he was the number one shooting guard in the class of 2020, he is known for his quickness on the court. He helped his team reach the CIF Central Section Division II final and the CIF Division II quarterfinal as a freshman and earned Central Section Rookie of the Year. He started from where he left as a freshman and helped his team win the Central Section Division II title twice as a sophomore and as a junior, for which he received the MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year. He was awarded the USA Today All-USA California Player of the Year. Green moved to Prolific Prep for his senior year and helped his team win the Grind Session World Championship. He was named to the MaxPrep All-American first team and won Sports Illustrated All-American Player of the Year. He was a consensus five-star recruit and a top recruit of his class by ESPN. Jalen Green represented the United States at the 2017 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship and helped the team win gold. He helped the United States to win the 2018 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup and the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup. He was named MVP of the 2018 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup for his performance. Therefore, it is evident that Jalen Green holds American nationality and citizenship.
