Jalen Green is a professional basketball player who plays as a guard for the NBA franchise Houston Rockets. Green’s basketball journey began when he was in high school at San Joaquin Memorial High School, California. He was voted as the best shooting guard in the country by ESPN in the class of 2020. After finishing high school, Jalen chose not to attend college and decided to join the NBA G League Ignite team. Jalen declared for the 2021 NBA draft, where he was selected as the second-overall pick by the Houston Rockets just behind Cade Cunningham.
In his first season as a Rocket in 2021/22, Jalen averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He also made it to the NBA All-Rookie First Team after his great rookie season. In the 2023/24 season, Green played all 82 regular-season games for the Rockets and averaged 19.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He shot 42.3% from the field, including 33.2% from deep. Internationally, Jalen Green plays for the USA Men's basketball team and has represented the country at various levels. He has won gold medals with team USA at the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, which was held in Argentina, and also at the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup held in Greece.
