Kenny Atkinson is a basketball coach from Huntington, New York. As of November 2024, he serves as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Born on June 2, 1967, he grew up on Long Island and attended the University of Richmond. He played college basketball for the Richmond Spiders men's basketball team from 1986 to 1990. After his college career, Atkinson played for various teams from 1990 to 2004. Atkinson played overseas in Italy, France, Spain, and the Netherlands.

In 2004, Atkinson got into coaching, starting as an assistant coach for the Paris Basket Racing. He then went on to serve as an assistant coach for the New York Knicks from 2008 to 2012 and the Atlanta Hawks from 2012 to 2016. In 2016, Atkinson became the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, a position he held until 2020. In 2021, Atkinson joined the Golden State Warriors as an assistant coach. As part of the Warriors, he was part of the NBA Championship-winning team in 2022. In 2023, Atkinson also took on the role of assistant coach for the France men's national basketball team. On June 28, 2024, he was hired by the Cleveland Cavaliers as their head coach.

After his playing career in 2004, he joined Paris Basket Racing as an assistant coach starting his coaching career.
