Kyle Anderson, popularly known as “Slo Mo” is a power forward for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The veteran debuted with the San Antonio Spurs and played for the Memphis Grizzlies before joining the Minnesota Timberwolves in the league.

Throughout the 2023/24 season, Anderson competed in 79 games with the Timberwolves and averaged 6.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 0.9 steals per game. He shot 46% from the field, including 22.9% from the deep. He is currently playing in the Western Conference Finals with the Timberwolves.

Anderson has also represented Team China in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia.

Anderson was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 30th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Resultantly, he signed a two-year deal worth $2.24 million with the team on July 12, 2014, and subsequently made his NBA debut in the 2014/15 season. In his debut season, Anderson played 33 odd games and managed to average 2.2 points, 2.2 blocks, and 0.8 assists per game.

San Antonio Spurs (2014-2018)

Anderson debuted in the NBA with the Spurs. Over four seasons and 257 games with the team, he averaged 4.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He shot 47.8% from the field, including 33.8% from beyond the arc. He was a restricted free agent after the 2017/18 season ended.

Memphis Grizzlies (2018-2022)

Anderson next entered into a four-year $37.2 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies on July 8, 2018, and debuted for the team during the 2018/19 season. Throughout four seasons and 248 games with them, he averaged 8.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 47.5% from the field, including 33.3% from deep. He was notable for being the steals leader (2.8) during the playoffs in 2021. He was released by the team after the end of the 2021/22 season.

Minnesota Timberwolves (2022-Present)

Anderson is presently serving in his third team in the NBA, the Timberwolves. On July 7, 2022, he entered into a two-year deal worth $18 million with the team and debuted in the 2022/23 season.

Anderson is a versatile player who has developed a keen sense of the game with his years of experience. He is still an asset to the Timberwolves and will hopefully continue on this tenacious track.
