Malcolm Brogdon was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 2016 NBA draft as the 36th overall pick. He is a former Rookie of the Year and had it not been for injuries, many fans and pundits expected Brogdon rather than Khris Middleton to be the second star in Milwaukee behind Giannis.

Brogdon has always been a great scorer, who can put the ball in the basket from all three levels. The efficiency has also always been there for him as he shoots 38.7 per cent from deep and 46.5 per cent from the field. He has a high basketball IQ and takes shots within the flow of the offense without much exertion.

Many may even say that the Bucks gave up too early on Brogdon, as he clearly can play as the third or fourth option for the team. He spent three seasons with the Bucks before he joined the Indiana Pacers in 2019. With the Pacers, Brogdon averaged 21.2 points in the 2020-21 season and there was no doubt that he is one of the best scorers in the NBA.

This off-season, Brogdon was traded from the Boston Celtics to the Trail Blazers in order to make room for Jrue Holiday. Even though the Trail Blazers are not winning many games, Brogdon has been doing his part and is averaging 17.4 points per game, not to mention the veteran leadership he provides to young players like Anfernee Simons and Scoot Henderson.

Malcolm Brogdon Time in the NBA

Brogdon is in his 8th season in the NBA. He was drafted by the Bucks in 2016 and played 3 seasons for them but was traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2019 where he spent another 3 seasons with them. After the Pacers, the Boston Celtics traded for Brogdon because they needed a reliable sixth man in their roster. He spent a single season with the Celtics and was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers this past off-season.

Brogdon is currently with the Blazers and is coming off of a stellar season with the Celtics. He is in the running for the sixth man of the year and is one of the best role players in the NBA.

What is Malcolm Brogdon’s Career High?

On January 25th, 2021, Brogdon posted a career-high, 36 points, against the Toronto Raptors. He shot the basketball at 58.8 per cent from the field (10/17), made three 3-pointers, and shot 13 of 14 from the free-throw line. He has 10 games with 30 or more points and 111 games with 20 points or more.

Meanwhile, in the playoffs, Brogdon scored 34 points in a losing effort against the Miami Heat on 22nd August 2020. With him now playing for the Blazers, who are currently a young team trying to figure out ways to win, he may go back to averaging 20 points or more yet again.
