Moses Moody had a successful college basketball career at the University of Arkansas. During his one year with the Razorbacks, he made a lasting impact in his freshman season by starting all the games as he became one of only three NCAA freshmen in history to average over 15 points and 5 rebounds.

In his collegiate debut, Moody scored 19 points while demonstrating his defensive prowess with three steals. This performance set the stage for what would be a tremendous freshman season. He then had game highs with 24 points and nine rebounds against UTA, and he was named SEC Freshman of the Week and College Sports Madness SEC Player of the Week.

Moody recorded his first career double-double against Mizzou on January 2nd, tallying 18 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Additionally, he made a season-high four 3-pointers. Later, he scored 25 points in the win over Georgia and showcased his defensive abilities by tallying a team-best and season-best 11 deflections.

In one of the weirdest games of Moody’s NCAA career, he showcased his impact on the game even when not scoring strongly. He only scored five points in the win over Auburn, going 0-of-4 from 3-point range but all of his five points came in the final nine minutes of the game.

With the game tied at 56, he secured an offensive rebound and put-back, giving Arkansas a lead that would not relinquish. He then sealed the win with a defensive rebound with three seconds left. In a SEC tournament game against Mizzou, Moody only scored five points (2-of-6 shooting).

However, he excelled in all other facets of the game as he grabbed team-high eight rebounds, had a team-best with 11 deflections, and notably took five charges which showcases how Moody influences game beyond scoring.

Moody scored a career high with 28 points against LSU in the SEC semifinal. Additionally, he led the team in rebounds with nine, recorded two steals, and notched 10 deflections. Then, during the 2021 NCAA March Madness, he struggled from the field versus Oral Roberts in the Sweet 16, yet still managed to score 14 points and grab six rebounds.

He also tied his career high with three blocked shots in that game. In the Elite 8 game against Baylor, he made 7-of-8 free throws to score 11 points, adding five rebounds. Unfortunately, his great freshman career ended as he declared for the 2021 draft after the loss in the Elite Eight.

Moody is one of only two players in SEC history to rank in the top 20 of five different statistical categories as a freshman: PPG (3rd), FG% (9th), 3PT% (17th), FT% (9th), and RPG (17th). Additionally, he is one of three freshman players in SEC history to shoot at least 42% from the field, 35% from beyond the arc, and 80% from the free-throw line.

Moody won numerous honors while playing for the Razorbacks in college which included — First Team Freshman All-American (Basketball Times), SEC Freshman of the Year (Coaches), SEC Newcomer of the Year (Media), and First Team All-SEC (Coaches and AP).

He is the first Razorback freshman to be named AP First Team All-SEC and also earned First Team All-SEC recognition from USA TODAY. Moody was also named to the SEC All-Freshman Team and received SEC Freshman of the Week honors three times.

Throughout his great career, Moody set several UA freshman records including most free throws made (151) and attempted (186). He scored in double figures in 28 of 32 games, led the team in scoring 11 times, led in rebounding 8 times, and led in both scoring and rebounding in the same game on 4 occasions.
