Jaylen Clark is a 4-star recruit, an American basketball player who plays as a guard for the UCLA Bruins basketball team. Born on October 13, 2001, Clark is currently 21 years old. He was born in Riverside, California to Cornelius and Denita Clark. He has an older brother named Cornelius and a sister named Brianna.

Clark is primarily known for his defensive prowess. He is known to be UCLA’s best defender and second-highest scorer. While he is extremely able on the defensive end of the floor, he is a major threat on offense as well, scoring in innumerable ways and creating opportunities for teammates. Clark has seen clear progression in his game between his freshman and junior years. In his freshman year, Clark averaged a sub-standard stat line of 2.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 9 minutes per game. In his breakout sophomore season, this stat line was 6.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 18 minutes per game. This improved stat line occurred in a season where Clark missed the first 6 games due to concussions.

In the 2022-23 season, Clark became a full-fledged starter and quickly established himself as the 2nd best scorer and the best defender on the UCLA Bruins basketball team. He led the team on many occasions in many games and even entire tournaments. His efforts paid off when he was recognized with the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, National Association of Basketball Coaches Defensive Player of the Year and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year awards. Furthermore, he was also named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team.
