Luke Lachey will be playing his senior year of college football with the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2025. Lachey started playing high school football at Grandview Heights High School where he played in three positions – defensive back, tight end, and wide receiver. He was more of a basketball player than a football player and received offers from Mid-American Conference teams. The four-star prospect from Ohio concluded his prep career with 118 tackles for 1948 yards.

Coming out of Grandview Heights as the No.3 player in the 2020 recruiting class, Lachey chose Iowa over offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Minnesota, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Northwestern, among others. In his freshman season with the Hawkeyes, Lachey appeared in one game before redshirting the year. The following year as a sophomore, Lachey saw action in 13 games and totaled eight receptions for 133 yards. In 2022, he played in 13 games with six starts at tight end catching 28 passes for 398 yards and four touchdowns. It turned out to be the most productive year for Lachey. Last season as a redshirt junior, Lachey caught 10 passes for 131 yards before going down with a season-ending injury during the third game of the campaign. The 6-foot-6, 253-pound Tight End caught 27 receptions for 227 yards in the 2024 season.
