The Netherlands secured a 100-run win over Vanuatu in the fifth match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024, while Uganda racked up an eight-wicket win in the sixth game.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe registered an eight-wicket win against UAE in the seventh encounter. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, bagged a 10-wicket comprehensive win against Scotland in the eighth clash.

Sri Lanka moved one spot up in Group A to top the standings with two consecutive wins, bagging four points. Scotland slipped from the top to the second rank with one win and a loss, picking up two points at an NRR of 1.502.

Uganda moved one spot up to secure the third position with one win and a loss, racking up two points at an NRR of -2.523. UAE and Thailand are yet to bag a win in the competition.

Moving to Group B standings, the Netherlands rocketed from the bottom to the top slot with a big win, accumulating two points at an NRR of five. Ireland descended from the top to the second rank with one win, bagging two points at an NRR of 1.307.

Zimbabwe Women moved up from the fourth rank to the third position with one win and a loss, picking up two points at an NRR of 0.129, while Vanuatu also secured one win and suffered a loss with two points at -2.197. UAE is yet to register a win in the campaign.


A look at the performances on Day 2

Moving to the details of the fifth contest, the Netherlands batted first and posted a good-looking total of 154/6 in 20 overs. Opening batter Sterre Kalis scored 70 runs in 51 balls with nine fours. Selina Solman and Nasimana Navaika scalped two wickets apiece.

In reply, Vanuatu collapsed for 54 runs in 19.5 overs. Silver Siegers and Caroline de Lange pocketed two wickets each for Zimbabwe while Iris Zwilling and Merel Dekeling picked up one wicket apiece.

In the sixth game, UAE notched up a below-par total of 110/5 in 20 overs. Captain Sindhu Sriharsha was the top scorer with 26 runs in 28 balls. Sarah Walaza, Concy Aweko, and Sarah Akiteng scalped one wicket apiece.

In response, Uganda finished off the game in 18.2 overs with eight wickets in hand. Opening batter Immaculate Nakisuuyi scored 68* runs in 64 balls with seven fours and one six. She received good support from Stephani Nampiina (33*).

In the seventh clash, UAE posted a below-par total of 105/9 in 20 overs. Heena Hotchandani was the top-scorer with 32 runs. Josephine Nkomo pocketed an impressive four-wicket haul.

In reply, Zimbabwe finished the game in 15.3 overs. No.3 batter Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano was the star in the chase with 36* runs in 26 balls while Mary-Anne Musonda, the skipper, scored 26* runs.

Delving into the details of the eighth clash, Scotland got bundled out for 94 runs in 18.1 overs. Lorna Jack emerged as the team's top-scorer with 24 runs. Kavisha Dilhari scalped a beautiful four-fer.

In reply, Sri Lanka sealed the deal with 10 wickets in hand in 10.1 overs. Openers Vishmi Gunaratne (24*) and Chamari Athapaththu (59*) were the star batters in the chase.
