This has been a tournament to savour! At a new venue, with quite a few new teams, this two-week long tournament thrilled us to the core. Both finalists were worthy of getting to this stage. Markhor Milano surprised many with their performances in the knockouts and Panjab were just too hot to handle right through! In the end, the better team won by miles! Congratulations to Panjab on this success and a big thumbs-up to Markhor Milano for the kind of show they have put up right through this competition. We now come to the end of the Brescia-leg of the ECS but get ready for the ECIs here as Italy host Spain for four international T10 matches over the next two days. So, do join us for that starting tomorrow. For now, this is the pair of Pragadeesh and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Panjab win by 88 runs and are the champions of ECS Italy, Brescia, 2024!
What a campaign this has been for Panjab! Drafted in for the first time at this level here and their players deliver when it matters! This was not meant to be an easy chance by any means and they made sure that was nowhere even close to easy!
Only two batters were able to get to double digits. The third highest joint run scorer were the extras! Would you believe it! Markhor Milano were expected to do better, but they found the going way too tough in the biggest game of the tournament.
Only two bowlers bowled their full quota of 2 overs. Six other bowlers rolled their arms over. But in total, 6 bowlers were among the wickets as well! It was a complete bowling performance.
Fielding too was impressive. There were a couple of chances that could have been taken, but even then, a big reason as to why Panjab are champions is their fielding and catching!
