Abdul Jabar Carter plays professional football in the NFL for the New York Giants. He started playing football at La Salle College and was the team captain as a senior. Abdul Carter was selected in both the Unanimous and Consensus All-American teams. He was named the Nagurski-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and the Smith-Brown Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year. Carter was selected in the All-American first team, voted by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, AFCA, Associated Press, FWAA, and The Sporting News.

His contributions to the team's success led to his recognition as an All-Big Ten second-team member and also earned him first-team All-Big Ten honors.
