Anthony Richardson

American football quarterback Anthony Dashawn Richardson Jr. plays for the Indianapolis Colts as of October 2024. He was a first-round pick (4th overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft. Richardson was one of the three quarterbacks to end up with a perfect RAS score. He started all four games he appeared in his rookie year. Richardson went with a record of 2-2 completing 50 passes for 577 yards in 2023.

Growing up in Florida, Richardson attended Eastside High School. He ended his high school career with 4,633 passing yards and 37 touchdowns. He was also a known rusher scoring 41 rushing touchdowns during the time. Richardson committed to his home state playing for the University of Florida in 2020. He appeared in 24 games completing 215 passes for 3105 yards and 24 touchdowns. Richardson also had 161 rushing attempts for 1,116 yards over three seasons. He was nominated to SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2022.

Anthony Richardson has had his share of problems with injuries since college. His issues didn’t spare him in his rookie year either as he suffered a major blow mid-season in 2023. Richardson has picked up an injury in the first few weeks of the 2024 season as well costing him around 2-3 weeks. Richardson didn’t sustain any major injury in college. In addition to the major shoulder problems he picked up in his rookie year, his hip problems have been with him since his early years.

Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 (2023)

Richardson sustained a concussion against the Texans in week 2 of the 2023 season. The quarterback missed Week 3’s game before returning in Week 4 after clearing the protocol.

Shoulder A/C Joint Sprain (2023)

In the second quarter of Week 5 against the Titans, Richardson suffered a throwing shoulder injury that ended his 2023 season according to DraftSharks. He had surgery at the end of October 2023.

Inguinal Hip Sprain (2024)

Richardson sustained hip and oblique injuries in September of 2024. After missing out on the next two week’s action, he was expected to return to the pitch after two weeks.

Thigh Hamstring Grade 2 (2021)

Richardson had a sequence of Hamstring problems in 2021 according to DraftSharks. It mentions that the injury started in the preseason and grew through the next months into the season.

Knee Meniscus Tear (2021)

Richardson tore his knee off the bone versus Florida State in November 2021, according to DraftSharks. He had to go through surgery in December 2021.

Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 (2021)

Richardson had a Grade 1 concussion against Georgia. Only as the "emergency QB" against South Carolina the next week was he available.
