Anthony Richardson

Miami-origin quarterback Anthony Richardson plays for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. The Colts drafted Richardson with the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft . Richardson went to Loften High School but played quarterback for the Eastside High School football team. During his tenure, he had 4,633 passing yards with 37 passing touchdowns. He then played college football at the University of Florida.

As a freshman, Richardson began his career in 2020 by recording a touchdown and reception for 27 yards. Richardson began his second season as the secondary quarterback to Emory Jones. With three touchdowns and two receptions for 167 yards, he ended his season in 2021. In 2022, he took over as the starting quarterback and led the Utah Utes to an upset victory, 29–26.

In 12 games, he ran for 654 yards and nine touchdowns while passing for 2,549 yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Following the 2022 season, he was a potential first-round selection in the NFL draft.

Richardson was the most athletic quarterback prospect in league history as per records. After undergoing surgery to repair his nasal septum during training camp, he was named the starting quarterback for the Colts. He rushed for a score, threw his first career interception, and completed his first touchdown throw in his debut against the Jaguars.

Due to a concussion, he was ruled out in Week 3, but he played against the Rams the following week and scored two touchdowns passing and one on the ground. He had a grade three AC joint injury on October 9, 2023, which led to his placement on injured reserve.
