American football running back Breece Maelik Hall plays for the New York Jets as of the 2024 NFL season. He was drafted in the second round (36th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Hall started two of the seven games he appeared in, in his rookie year. He became a starter in the 2023 season, starting 16 games of the regular season. Hall led the league with the longest rushing attempt (83 yards) in the 2023 season. In his first two seasons in the NFL, Hall has appeared in 24 games having 303 rushing attempts for 1,457 rushing yards. As of week 8 of the 2024 NFL season, Hall has accumulated 1,885 rushing yards to go along with 1,125 receiving yards.

Growing up in Kansas, Hall attended Wichita Northwestern High School. He was rated as a four-star recruit and the best running back nationally by 247Sports. Hall was named Metro Player of the Year as a senior, helping him to a runner-up finish in Class 5A with a 12-1 record. He rushed for 2,127 yards and 29 touchdowns that year. Hall committed to Iowa State University in 2019. In his three seasons in college, he appeared in 36 games having 718 attempts for 3,941 yards. He was also named Gary Thompson Iowa State Male Athlete of the Year (2022) and Two-Time Consensus All-American (2020, 2021).

Breece Hall suffered a major blow in his first year in the NFL. After making a strong start, he sustained a season-ending injury around 11 games into the season. He was averaging 5.8 Y/A during the week he got injured. The knee injuries sustained have made Hall sit out for the majority of his rookie season.

Breece Hall sustained a torn ACL against the Denver Broncos in Week 7 of the 2022 season. Hall missed the final 11 games of his rookie year. He made a return to the NFL after 11 months of being out in Week 1 of the 2023 season.

Knee Meniscus Trim (2022)

Breece Hall also hurt his knee meniscus at the time when he tore his ACL.
