American football running back Christian Jackson McCaffrey plays for the San Francisco 49ers as of October 2024. The Carolina Panthers drafted him as the 8th pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. McCaffrey was a starter straight from his rookie year appearing in all 16 games. He completed 117 rushing attempts for 435 yards in 2017. After six seasons and 64 appearances for the Panthers, McCaffrey was traded to the 49ers in 2022. In his first full season with the 49ers, McCaffrey recorded 272 attempts and led the league for rushing yards (1,459) in 2023. McCaffrey was presented with the 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
