Joshua Hines-Allen is an American football defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. The Jaguars drafted Hines-Allen with the 7th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Hines-Allen started four games in his rookie season, while recording 11 sacks, 44 tackles and two forced fumbles and was named to the Pro Bowl and the PFWA All-Rookie Team. In 2020, prior to being placed on the injured reserve, Hines-Allen recorded three sacks and 13 tackles. The following season was Hines-Allen’s best season to date with eight sacks, 71 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception. In 2022, The Jaguars exercised the fifth-year option on Hines-Allen’s contract. The subsequent 2023 NFL season, Hines-Allen was named to the 2023 Pro Bowl. Hines-Allen committed to the University of Kentucky for his collegiate football career. Hines-Allen, a two-star prospect, was under the radar of Rutgers University due to his high school senior status. At Kentucky, he received first-team All-SEC and unanimous All-American honours in 2018.
