Micah Parsons is a Dallas Cowboys NFL outside linebacker. He played college football at Penn State. This is where he was; a consensus All-American, the Butkus–Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year, and the Cotton Bowl Defensive MVP. The Cowboys chose him in the first round of the 2021 draft. Parsons won the 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year (DPOY) award.


The dominant linebacker was born in 1999, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He excelled in football, basketball, and track at Central Dauphin East High School. He was named the 2017 Gatorade Pennsylvania Football Player of the Year.


Parsons joined Penn State over the likes of Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson. He had 111 tackles, 29 for loss, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions in two seasons with the Nittany Lions. He was named a 2019 consensus All-American. Due to COVID-19 issues, Parsons skipped 2020. After his sophomore season, the Cowboys drafted him 12th overall.


The rookie Parsons led the Cowboys with 13 sacks and 84 tackles. He became the first Cowboy to earn the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year since Emmitt Smith won the Offensive Player of the Year in 1990.


Parsons plays inside and outside linebacker. He can rush and halt. He'll be a Cowboys star for years. The Cowboys' star is well-rounded beyond his athletic achievements. He's on the NFL Players Association's Executive Committee and participates in various charities. He inspires young athletes.
