Sean Payton is a professional American football coach who is the head coach for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League and a former quarterback. He was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2021 and he led the team to its first Super Bowl victory against the Indianapolis Colts in 2009. For his efforts, he also won the AP NFL Coach of the Year.


Sean Payton guided the Saints to three NFL Conference Championship Games and one Super Bowl victory making him the most successful coach in Saints franchise history. After guiding the Saints for 16 seasons he joined the Denver Broncos in 2023 as their head coach. The annual salary of Sean Payton with the Denver Broncos is $18 million making him the second highest-paid coach in this prestigious league.


Sean Payton’s first wife was Beth Shuey and they had two children together. They have a son named Conner Payton. They also have a daughter named Meghan Payton. After being together for over 20 years, Sean Payton and Beth Shuey got divorced in 2014.


Sean Payton is currently married to Skylene Montgomery. Sean Payton and Skylene Montgomery met each other in 2014 and after years of dating, they finally got married in 2021. Sean Payton’s Early Life

Sean Payton was born in San Mateo, California, and raised in Naperville, Illinois by his parents Thomas and Jeanne Payton. During his middle school years, Sean Payton lived in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Sean attended Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois, and played quarterback in his senior year before graduating in 1982. He won a football scholarship at Eastern Illinois University and played quarterback for the Eastern Illinois Panthers football team, leading the Panthers to an 11–2 record and the quarter-finals of the Division I-AA Playoffs in 1986.


Sean Payton’s Super Bowl Wins

As a head coach, Sean Payton led the New Orleans Saints to the Super Bowl XLIV, in 2010, where the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts. Now in 2023, Payton signed a five-year contract with the Broncos to become their head coach.
