Russell Wilson is a National Football League (NFL) quarterback. Born in November, 1988, he plays for the Seattle Seahawks. He was the 12th pick in the third round and 75th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. Wilson played football and baseball from 2008 to 2010 at the North Carolina State University. He transferred to University of Wisconsin following this, where he played college football. In his presence, the team won a Big Ten title and also the 2012 Rose Bowl. He also set the FBS record for passing efficiency in a single-season at 191.8.
Wilson had a successful debut season and held the record for most passing touchdowns by a rookie (26), tying with Peyton Manning then. He was named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year for 2012. As an NFL quarterback, he also holds the record for most wins through seven seasons. He has seven Pro Bowls to his name and has started in two Super Bowls, winning Super Bowl XLVIII. With a career passer rating over 100, he is one of the two quarterbacks in NFL history to achieve this feat, the other being Aaron Rodgers Along with a number of endorsement deals with several top brands he is known to have a net worth of around $100 million.
Wilson signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension with the Seahawks on April 15, 2019, making him the highest paid player in the NFL at that time. He became just the third quarterback in NFL history to throw for 30 touchdowns in four consecutive seasons on November 19, 2020, when the Seahawks were up against the Arizona Cardinals.
His most recent feat includes being named Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year on February 6, 2021. Lately there has been much speculation that the Seahawks might trade the superstar with the Chicago Bears. Only time will tell if the Bears will be able to land the former Super Bowl MVP, and more importantly with whom.
