Wardell Stephen Curry II is an American professional basketball player who plays in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors. He is regarded by many experts and analysts as the greatest ever shooter to play basketball. Basketball has gone through a transformation with a higher reliance on the 3 point shot. Steph Curry is accredited for beginning this 3 point revolution in the NBA because of his ridiculous sharp shooting ability at a historic volume.
He was born on the 14th of March 1988 in Akron Ohio to Sonya and Dell Curry. His father was an NBA player as well, so he lived wherever his father played. He spent the majority of his childhood in Charlotte with a brief spell in Toronto. He attended Charlotte Christian School where he led his team to several conference titles and state playoff appearances. He ended up going to Davidson College where he lit up the March Madness Tournament in his junior year, garnering a large amount of NBA interest.
In the 2009 NBA Draft, he was selected 7th overall by the Golden State Warriors which was a franchise changing decision. He would go on to become the franchise’s greatest ever player, cementing him as a legend in San Francisco.
Steph Curry has had a great career spanning 12 years staying loyal to the team that drafted him. He won his first MVP and Championship with The Golden State Warriors in 2015 which was just the beginning of his rise. In 2016 he won the first ever unanimous MVP, leading his team to the best ever regular season record with a 73-9 record which eclipsed the famous 96’ Bulls Team. After the tough loss to the Cavs in the 2016 finals, the Warriors added the then free agent, Kevin Durant, to their roster which started the Warriors Dynasty. Steph won back to back rings in 2017 and 2018, just losing out to the Toronto Raptors in 2019. With Steph in the prime of his career, he will be looking to add another ring to his collection.
