WWE highlighted some positives on Raw this week.

It is no secret that the go-home show before the Greatest Royal Rumble event was as basic as basic can get, with no significant reveal, no cliffhangers and no anticipation built for future WWE programming.

However, there is always a few bright spots that shine throughout the company's terrible booking, and on this week on Raw, WWE made correct decisions with regards to those specific narratives and superstars.

From building monsters to creating new prospects, WWE did leave the door open for future main eventers to be grown on Raw in the following months.

Therefore, even with the thin roster, they have to work with, it is those elements that can help Raw stay relevant throughout the next few months.

#1 The Sami and Kevin show

Zayn and Owens could reignite their careers with this idea.

It is not the most original concept, it does not contain the best content in the world of wrestling, but the Sami and Kevin show might prove to be the single most entertaining act on Monday Night Raw over the next few months.

However, that can only be true if WWE keeps it innovative, fresh and most importantly the creative team must keep it relevant.

The only reason why this show can succeed is due to the excellent chemistry between Owens and Zayn, excellent heel work by Zayn especially and a plethora of topics Owens and Zayn can 'work shoot'.

WWE has gold on their hands with this idea, and they should not run it into the ground like every other idea they had in the past.

#2 Strowman's monster booking

Strowman has proved to be WWE's next breakout star

Step aside Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley or even Seth Rollins, the hottest commodity on Monday Night's is undoubtedly Braun Strowman.

The Monster Among Men has survived being regularly squashed by Reigns, being pushed to the mid-card and tagging with a 10-year-old child at Wrestlemania.

Therefore, nothing can slow down Strowman's white-hot babyface run, and perhaps nothing will.

While WWE has built the main event around two wrestlers since last year, Strowman has been the superstar that has proved he deserves to be Universal Champion at this point in his career.

And sooner rather than later, Strowman can capture a World Title thanks to his megastar booking every week.

#3 Paul Heyman's heated promo

A master on the mic

When Paul Heyman wants to verbally assault any superstar, announcer, or fan on the mic, he can very well do so in a manner that compels wrestling aficionados to stand up and listen.

This week on Raw, Heyman delivered another familiar promo centred around the tired rivalry between Reigns and Lesnar, but Heyman deserves credit for making this promo feel more personal, more vicious and more brutal than he usually does.

From provoking disturbing imagery of Reigns future after he clashes with Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble event to expertly mixing reality with the kayfabe of wrestling, Heyman deserves much recognition for his expert skills in the mic.

Moreover, WWE made the right decision by leaning on Heyman's war of words with Reigns to sell this programme's conclusion.

#4 Ronda continues to dominate

Rousey is the x-factor in the Raw women's division.

When Ronda Rousey signed her WWE contract, she had many detractors doubting her ability to succeed as a professional wrestler.

However, at WrestleMania Rousey proved every critic wrong as she was an integral part of what would become the best match on the show.

Therefore, WWE needed to follow up that masterful debut with hot booking for the former UFC star. And for the most of Rousey's appearances on Raw, WWE got her booking completely right, while at the same time getting they got it completely wrong.

However, this week on Raw, Rousey was back to her dominating ways as she stormed down to the ring in the show's main event and nearly snapped Mickie James arm.

WWE must realise that Rousey is at her best when kicking ass and taking names.

#5 Dolph and Drew are here to stay

This is a team that transcends the tag team division.

Drew Mcintyre is simply a beast. The former NXT Champion debuted last week on Raw in hot fashion, and this week he replicated that success.

WWE has made the right decision to pair Ziggler and McIntyre together as both these men have motives that feel relatable, personal and focused.

From their hard-hitting in-ring work to their truthful promos, nothing is stopping these men from being the hottest act on the main roster, as WWE is finally booking them like main event talent. Moreover, things can only get better for these two former underutilised stars.
