"God’s got a plan"- Virat Kohli opens up on RCB's incredible win over CSK in IPL 2024 to qualify for playoffs

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli was visibly emotional after his team beat the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs on Saturday, May 18. The win helped RCB better their net run rate and seal a spot into the IPL 2024 playoffs.

Not long ago, the Royal Challengers were rock bottom of the points table with just one win out of their first eight games. However, Kohli shed light on how RCB never gave up and reaped rewards with six wins on the bounce to make it to the final four.

Speaking in a video posted by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru after the game, here's what Virat Kohli had to say about RCB's destiny:

"God’s got a plan. You just have to be honest about what you are doing, and I think we were pretty honest with our hard work, and we got the rewards. I don’t want to say anything more than this. Got to focus on the next one."

Kohli comfortably sits at the top of the Orange Cap list with a staggering 708 runs in 14 innings at an average of 64.36 and a strike rate of 155.60. He could get a maximum of three more games to take that tally of runs even higher.

Virat Kohli's batting impact against CSK

Virat Kohli made an impact with the bat against CSK, scoring 47 off just 29 balls including three fours and four sixes. He showed great application against the Chennai spinners on a pitch that had grip in it, unleashing his slog sweeps.

It wasn't all easy for RCB batter as they had to deal with a rain break and it got a bit tricky to bat on. However, Kohli's aggressive game against the spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner helped the hosts get momentum. Him dominating spin is good news for India as well with the T20 World Cup around the corner.
