"Beneath him to do this" - Nikki Glaser calls out Ben Affleck's lack of preparation at Tom Brady's roast

Nikki Glaser was one of the standout stars of Tom Brady’s roast on Netflix. And the comedienne has taken time out to not reflect on her performance but on Hollywood superstar Ben Affleck’s set on the roast

Tom Brady was on the receiving end at Netflix’s ‘Greatest Roast of All Time.’ The aptly titled show took over all the conversations, irrespective of the setting and though everyone was joked at, it was Glaser who gained the most recognition from this event with her jokes.

However, Glaser revealed in an interview with ‘KFC Radio’ that she hadn’t rewatched Affleck’s set for a simple reason.

“I haven’t watched it again back how it looked, because I don’t like to watch people bomb,” she said.

However, the 39-year-old comic shared her perspective on the possible cause of Affleck’s performance.

“He didn’t prepare," she said. "He’s someone who’s famous enough that he probably thinks that this is beneath him to do this, so I’m just gonna do a favor. It’s not going to be that big of a deal.”

Glaser's comments on Ben Affleck highlight that he missed out on showing his chops at one of the most successful outings for Netflix.

At the roast of Tom Brady, Ben Affleck spent most of the set ranting about social media and Twitter in particular. These jokes were not for the audience and the seasoned comic Nikki Glaser has pinpointed the issue.

“There were jokes that could have been used to fill up a set that would have been amazing, but either they couldn’t get him on the phone enough to work out something," she said in the interview.

"He didn’t practice enough, or he just picked a bad premise and then he had to stick to it the whole time.It didn’t work right away, so it’s not gonna work later.”

Ben Affleck was the surprise guest for the roast show. However, he received some constructive criticism from one of the most accomplished comics. Only time will tell if this advice will pave the way for Affleck's future roast commitments, if any.
