Jose Callejon joins Napoli

Real Madrid have accepted a €10 million offer from Serie A club Napoli for their winger Jose Callejon, the clubs’ twitter accounts have confirmed the news.

The 26-year-old former U-21 Spanish international, who becomes Napoli manager Rafael Benitez’s second signing since taking charge of the club, managed to score 20 league goals in 78 games for Madrid in the last two years. However, he found it really difficult to get the first team playing time under former Real Boss Jose Mourinho.

Callejon was believed to be on the radar of Jose Mourinho, however, latter’s estranged relationship with Madrid giants meant that any move was unlikely.

Napoli are also looking to add a striker to their squad and reportedly, made contact with Manchester City for Edin Dzeko.

A statement published in sscnapoli.it read: “Jose Maria Callejon is in Napoli. The Spanish forward arrived in the city this afternoon and has already visited the Castelvolturno technical centre.
