Among those aiming to exploit the absence of Usain Bolt at the Diamond League meeting here on July 6 are American sprint stars Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin and home favourite Christophe Lemaitre.

Bolt skips this 100m staged three weeks before the Olympic Games as he is retained in Kingston by the Jamaican selection trials for the Olympics.

Gay has posted the second fastest time in history, 9.69s run in Shanghai in 2009, Gatlin is the fourth fastest 100m sprinter this season while Lemaitre is the reigning European champion.

Gay missed the 2011 world championships with injury and this is only his second competitive race this season after a run out in New York on Saturday at the Diamond League Meeting on America’s East Coast.

The 2007 world champion dominated his series in a time of 10.00 despite a headwind of 1.5m/sec.
