Brussels - Jamaican sprinter Warren Weir won this season’s Diamond League 200-metre title and with it the $40,000 first prize.

The Olympic and World Championship silver medallist confirmed his victory by winning the men’s 200-metre at the season ending Diamond League meeting in Brussels Friday, reports CMC.

Weir clocked 19.87 seconds to cross the line ahead of his Jamaican teammate Nickel Ashmeade, who recorded a season-best 19.93 seconds.

American Walter Dix was third in 20.12, also a season-best.
