Saina Nehwal says 2015 has been a dream year for her

The Herbalife Family Foundation(HFF), a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children by helping charitable organisations provide healthy nutrition to children in need, today announced the launch of the third phase of Casa Herbalife program with Smile Foundation, a national development organisation that works for underprivileged children and youth in education, healthcare, livelihoods and women’s empowerment.

The third phase was unveiled in Bangalore today and the HFF will extend grants to provide nutrition to provide nutritional support to 1000 children across the country, through Smile Foundation’s Mission Education program.

The chief guest at the event was none other than World No. 1 Saina Nehwal and the 25-year-old shuttler gave the 25-odd children, who were present at the venue an inspirational talk on the importance of keeping fit and on why hard work was vital to achieve success.

“You have to believe in hard work, believe in achieving your goals. You als need to have a proper diet. Keep yourself fit. It isnt easy to be fit for the entire duration of the day after playing a draining match and Herbalife helps me in remaining fit,” Saina said at the Herbalife press conference that was held earlier today.

The shuttler also spoke about the help and support she has received from her family and coaches and added that the current year has been a dream one for her.

“ I have been playing this sport since the age of 9 and have got a lot of support from my parents, coaches etc. 2015 has been a dream year for me. I have become World Number 1. Its all happened so fast,” she added.

Won my first title after my association: Saina

Talking about the contribution of Herbalife in her career, Saina revealed a small story on how following her association with the brand, she achieved immediate success on the court.

“I have a special connection with Herbalife. They were my first sponsors in 2009 and immediately after my association with them, I won my maiden Superseries title in Indonesia after the partnership.

The numero uno ranked shuttler also had a message for the kids who were present at the meet, which was, “ Focus on giving your best,”.

Apt words, indeed coming from a real champion of Indian sports.
