Indian badminton has been growing at a rapid pace, with the nation's shuttlers performing exceedingly well at international tournaments and winning laurels for the country. The male shuttlers have shown tremendous progress and after latest BWF rankings released on Thursday, they achieved a unique record as five Indian players reached the Top 20 of the BWF Rankings.

Outside the top 20, India continues its dominance in the men's singles circuit as it has the most number of players in the Top 100 of the world rankings as well.

Here are the countries with the most male shuttlers in the Top 100, with India leading the way.


India - 13

In the latest BWF rankings, 13 male Indian players are featured in the Top 100. They are Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy, Sai Praneeth, Sameer Verma, Ajay Jayaram, Sourabh Verma, Parupalli Kashyap, Subhankar Dey, Aditya Doshi, Abhishek Yelegar, Pratul Doshi, Harsheel Dani and Siril Verma.

Malaysia - 9

Malaysia are second on the list with 9 players. They are as follows, Lee Chong Wei, Wei Feng Chong, Zulfadli Zulkiffli, Darren Liew, Lee Zii Jia, Iskandar Zulkarnain, Joo Ven Soong, Giap Chin Goh and Lim Chi Wing.

Denmark - 8

Denmark are 3rd on the list with 8 athletes on the list. In fact, one of their players is the top seed. they players are Viktor Axelsen, Anders Antonsen, Jan O Jorgensen, Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus, Emil Holst, Kim Bruun, Rasmus Gemke and Victor Svendsen.

China - 7

In the BWF rankings there are 7 Chinese players in the top 100. They are as follows, Lin Dan, Shi Yuqi, Chen Long, Tian Houwei, Huang Yuxiang, Qiao Bin and Zhao Junpeng. It is worth noting that all 7 players are within the top 50 rankings.

Japan - 7

According to the BWF rankings, only 7 Japanese athletes feature in the top 100. They are Kanta Tsuneyama, Kazumasa Sakai, Kenta Nishimoto, Takuma Ueda, Yu Igarashi, Koki Watanabe and Riichi Takeshita.

Indonesia - 7

Indonesia tie with China and Japan on 7 athletes in the top 100. They are Jonatan Christie, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Tommy Sugiarto, Ihsan Maulana Mustofa, Sony Dwi Kuncord, Panji Ahmad Maulana and Shehsar Hiren Rhustavito.

Hong Kong - 5

Finally, rounding out this list is Hong Kong with 5 athletes. The players are, Ng Ka Long Angus, Wong Wing Ki Vincent, Hu Yun, Wei Nan and Lee Cheuk Yiu.
