Los Angeles Clippers: Easy Money

Blake Griffin led the Los Angeles Clippers to victory with his strong play last night.

The Los Angeles Clippers got a relatively uneventful 94-83 win against a Philadelphia 76ers team that was missing their best player, Michael Carter-Williams. The Clippers were missing J.J. Redick, Matt Barnes, and Reggie Bullock, which cripples their wing rotation and forces them to start Willie Green. Here are some notes that I picked up during the game that I will share.

Notes

• Watching Chris Paul in games like this are sometimes the only thing that can keep a person sane. He just controls the game so effortlessly, doing everything he wants without overexerting himself in a meaningless game. Watching someone who is in complete control of everything they do and is a master of their art is truly a cool thing to watch. No one does it better than CP3.
• Blake Griffin is a very interesting player. He is trying to suck me in to believing he will be a force in the playoffs, with all of the midrange jumpers he is hoisting and making this year. He has looked better than I have seen him in the past, especially when he is very assertive with his jumper like last night. On nights like this, he puts the defense in an impossible situation because they can never fully commit to covering him outside for fear of getting slammed on.
• Jamal Crawford is so skinny. He looks hilarious on the court, all arms and legs with no muscle on him. And boy, can that guy create shots. Even though he was missing shots last night, its pretty cool to see his craftiness at work as he herks and jerks into position for shots.
• On this shooting note though, the Clips three- point shooting was really embarrassing. They were missing wide open look after wide open look. One sequence in the second shows Crawford and Jared Dudley barely hit the rim on back to back corner threes.
• DeAndre Jordan continues to show improvement, especially in the rebounding department. He pulled down 21 last night, and for all of his faults as a rim protector, the improvement in his game is readily apparent this year if you choose to stop dwelling on what he isn’t.
• The Clips continue their road trip in Boston on Wednesday as they try and improve to to 3-2 on the road trip.
