The downfall of former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling will be adapted into a limited television series for FX titled 'Sterling Affairs'.

The FX limited series will contain a total of six episodes and will be released sometime this year. 'Sterling Affairs' is based on a five-part ESPN 30 for 30 podcast of the same name hosted by reporter Ramona Shelburne.

"Sterling Affairs" will shed light on the racist behavior of Donald Sterling and the power struggle between his wife, Shelly Sterling, and his mistress, V. Stiviano. The FX limited series will also showcase how the Los Angeles Clippers navigated the Sterling controversy while trying to win an NBA championship.

Donald Sterling was banned from the NBA in April 2014 by commissioner Adam Silver after racist comments he made were leaked to the media. He was replaced by Steve Ballmer, who purchased the franchise for $2 billion. Sterling had been the Clippers owner since 1981.

Kevin Bray will be directing the first three episodes of 'Sterling Affairs', while also being an executive producer alongside Gina Welch, Zanne Devine, Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson. Other producers involved include Rembert Browne, Ramona Shelburne, and Nellie Stevens Reed. The FX limited series will be produced by FX Productions and Color Force.
