LA Clippers star Paul George shared his experience while the team's plane was almost destroyed

Paul George and the LA Clippers recently had a near-death experience after their plane was hit with lightning on their way to playing the Denver Nuggets. After the event, the players, George included, thought about what they should do during their moment of distress.

PG-13 thought about sending a text message to his loved ones when they felt the turbulence mid-flight. After their plane was struck by lightning, the engine went quiet, and it took a while for it to start back up. Due to this, George shared his experience on a recent episode of Podcast P with Paul George.

"Lightning hit the plane, bro. It would've been over, bro. Y'all woulda been Podcast We, Podcast RIP."
"The pilot warned us, before we took off. He was like, 'Listen, it's gonna be some turbulence.' The plane literally just dropped. It was like a freefall. You go on a roller coaster, you go into freefall. Like, it was that feeling to the tummy. Then we heard the plane. It felt like the plane just shut all the way off. I'm thinking like, 'D**n, do I send a text now?'"

George also shared that it wasn't his first experience of a plane dealing with an in-flight problem.

"It's not my first incident with like, s**t happening to the plane. We was in Oklahoma, and then a bird hit the nose of a plane, dented the whole front of the plane. We heard a loud a** thump."

Luckily for the team, they were able to land safely in Denver. ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk shared the update on Twitter.

"The plane dropped in altitude several times and shrieks could be heard from passengers in what some staffers called one of the worst moments they've experienced on a flight…Shortly after the Clippers landed safely in Colorado, the team saw a mark that took some of the paint off the tail of the Delta Air Lines plane -- the result of a midair lightning strike."
