“Tell him man, don't cry”- Draymond Green hilariously roasts Dwyane Wade as Michigan State upsets Marquette to reach Sweet 16

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had some fun with Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade on Sunday. This came as Green’s alma mater, Michigan State, upset Wade’s alma mater, Marquette, in the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

The seventh-seeded Spartans defeated the second-seeded Golden Eagles 69-60 to advance to the Sweet 16. Following the game, a Marquette player could be seen crying while walking off the court. Green then roasted him along with Wade and his former Warriors teammate and Golden Eagles alumni Juan Toscano-Anderson, via his Instagram story:

“Uh oh, oh, don’t cry. Oh, don't cry. Tell him Juan T, don't cry. D-Wade gotta tell him, man, don't cry. Boys can’t be crying out here,” Green said.

Michigan State (21-12), seeded seventh in the East region, will face the third-seeded Kansas State Wildcats (25-9) in the Sweet 16 on Thursday night. It will mark the Spartans’ first Sweet 16 appearance since 2019.

Draymond Green also called out Kansas State during his Instagram story:

“U oh, Kansas State y’all next. You've got to go,” Green said.

Magic Johnson on Michigan State’s upset win over Marquette

LA Lakers legend Magic Johnson

Another prominent Michigan State alum, LA Lakers legend Magic Johnson, also took to social media to congratulate the Spartans on Sunday. Johnson highlighted the Spartans' team effort in their upset win over Marquette.

“It was a total team effort today by the MSU Spartans! They are heading to the Sweet Sixteen with their 69-60 victory over Marquette led by Tyson Walker with 23 points, Joey Hauser with 14 points & 10 rebounds, & AJ Hoggard with 13 points. @MSU_Basketball,” Johnson tweeted.

“Congratulations to my friend Tom Izzo for winning his 16th NCAA Tournament game as the lower-seeded team, the most all-time, and for his 15th appearance at the Sweet Sixteen!” Johnson tweeted.
