Jayden Quaintance, the No. 8-ranked player in the country according to 247Sports, will soon decide his collegiate destination. The five-star recruit is the best center prospect in the nation and the second-best overall, behind South African Khaman Maluach.

Which schools is Jayden Quaintance considering?

According to 247Sports, Jayden Quaintance had an offer ready from Kentucky after an unofficial visit to the Wildcats earlier in 2023. However, following John Calipari's removal as head coach, his commitment isn't certain.

During his initial commitment to the University, the relationship built between Calipari and Jayden Quaintance was a major reason for his interest in the program.

"They've had guard success, but they've had good success with bigs, a lot more than other colleges. Coach (John) Calipari has been showing a lot of love, and Coach Chin (Coleman), too," Quaintance told On3's Joe Tipton.
"Coach Cal has already come to Word of God twice to see me. We've been able to build a good relationship"

A plethora of other teams joined the race for his services, with Missouri also giving him an offer during his early free-agent days.

Recently, Louisville entered the bid for his services in the form of Louisville. The program hosted names like Jayden Quaintance and Aly Khalifa receiving invites from the University.

There also remains the possibility that Quaintance favors the personal connection aspect with Coach John Calipari and decides to follow him to Arkansas.

Alongside Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, and Arkansas, a host of other teams have also extended offers to the big man out of Cleveland.

Names like the Florida Gators, Ohio State, USF, Alabama, Baylor, California, Cincinnati, and Kansas also made their bid for the big man.

Both Kent State and Jacksonville, where his father, Haminn Quanintance, played college basketball, also put forth offers for the 17-year-old.

2-year criteria for Jayden Quaintance

At 17, Jayden Quaintance enters the collegiate scene at an earlier age than most other prospects.

Thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement by the NBA, Jayden has to spend a minimum of two years removed from high school-level competition before competing at the professional level.

The 2024 McDonald's All-American played for the United States national under-16 team at the 2023 Americas Championship, where he averaged 6.7 points and 6.5 rebounds while winning the gold medal.
