41-time Ranji Trophy Champions Mumbai were humiliated by Karnataka as they were beaten by an innings and 20 runs in their quarter-final clash in Nagpur. This is just Mumbai's fifth innings loss in over 500 Ranji Trophy matches.

After conceding a 397-run first-innings lead, Mumbai lost three wickets at the end of day three and started day four on a positive note as Suryakumar Yadav and night-watchman Akash Parkar put on 98 runs for the fourth wicket.

Surya registered his century before he was run out for 108 while Akash was dismissed for 65. Debutant Shivam Dube, who took a fifer in earlier in the match, scored 71 off 91 balls before his team was eventually dismissed for 377. All-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham was the wrecker-in-chief as he finished with figures of 6/104.

Kerala, who are playing their first-ever quarter-final in Ranji Trophy, had a frustrating day as Vidarbha batted throughout and took their lead past 500. Skipper Faiz Fazal, who has brilliant this season, scored yet another century and was well backed by Apoorv Wankhade, who scored 107, along with Wasim Jaffer and Ganesh Satish, who scored their individual fifties.

Bengal's Abhimanyu Easwaran's second century in the match, along with Writtick Chatterjee's unbeaten 213, put Bengal in command as they are on the verge of knocking the defending champions Gujarat out of the tournament.

Delhi ended day four with 209 runs adrift of a remarkable win against Madhya Pradesh.
