Much to the relief of South Africa, their pace spearhead Dale Steyn has been declared fit to play in today’s crunch encounter between South Africa and West Indies in Cardiff.

Steyn, who is arguably the world’s best fast bowler presently, missed the first two games for South Africa due to a side strain. Following Morne Morkel‘s return to South Africa due to a quad strain, Steyn coming back will be a big positive for the Proteas before the virtual quarter-final today.

According to a statement from Cricket South Africa, the bowler is said to have recovered completely and was bowling at full intensity in the nets on Thursday.

The team which wins today will make it through to the last four, along with India, from Group B.
