ICC Under-19 World Cup

ICC Under-19 World Cup

The 10th edition of U-19 World Cup will start from February 14 at United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament will last till March 1.

This tournament is going to be a great opportunity for the young guns, especially for the batsmen. Flat pitches are expected at the UAE, which will allow the stroke-players to set their sight on the tournament.

India’s Shikhar Dhawan holds the record for the most runs scored in a single edition of U-19 World Cup (505 in 2004) and the highest average (84.16) in a single edition (considering only those who have scored a minimum of 500 runs).

Australia are the most successful team in the competition with a win percentage of 79.66.

India and Australia have won the title of U-19 World Cup thrice. India won the title in the years 2000, 2008 and 2012 and Australia were the champions of the tournament in 1988, 2002 and 2010.

Pakistan holds the record for being the only team to win back-to-back titles. They have won the tournament in 2004 and 2006.

England have won the competition only once, which was in 1998.

No other team has won the title so far. So this is a great opportunity to prove their individual capabilities and also to help their teams create history.
