India's Under-19 captain, Ishan Kishan has been arrested by the Patna Police on Tuesday for a reported case of reckless driving. Kishan was allegedly reported to have crashed into an autorickshaw and injuring the people inside the vehicle. The 17-year-old was also purported to have misbehaved with people who were around the site of the accident.

According to reports, Kishan was driving his father's car when he oversped and crashed into the back of the vehicle in front of his vehicle. Following the impact of the collision, people sitting inside the vehicle suffered injuries.

After the accident, the people from inside the autorickshaw started surrounding the Indian Under-19 captain and reportedly some of the people started beating up Kishan. Before the fight between Kishan and the victims escalated, onlookers called up the police in order to help resolve the matter.

The Patna police arrested the Jharkhand player as well all those who were involved in the brawl. Kishan's car was also seized by the police.

Although Kishan is a native of Navada district in Bihar, the 17-year-old plies his trade in the domestic circuit for Jharkhand, the state from which the Indian limited-overs captain, MS Dhoni hails. Kishan moved to play for Jharkhand after the cricket body of Bihar lost its affiliation with the BCCI.

Kishan was named as the captain of the Under-19 squad in December 2015 after his excellent performances for the junior squad as well as in domestic competitions.

After making his debut for Jharkhand as a 16-year-old in 2014, Kishan scored 736 runs in 10 matches in the Ranji Trophy at an average of 40.88 with one hundred and five half-centuries to his name.

Indian cricket fans will be hoping that Kishan can get through this obstacle without making a bad name for himself and get back to doing what he does best – playing cricket.

Kishan considers Australian wicketkeeper-batsman, Adam Gilchrist and Jharkhand teammate, MS Dhoni as his cricketing idols.

The Under-19 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh and starts on January 27. India Under-19 play their first match against Ireland Under-19 on January 28.
