It will be the Rising Pune Supergiants up against the Delhi Daredevils in the 49th match of the VIVO IPL 2016 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ADA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam. While RPS will be looking to salvage some pride after a dismal campaign in their debut season, DD will want to move a step further towards their goal of qualifying for the playoff stage of the tournament. The Supergiants have won only 3 matches in the 2016 IPL so far and are languishing at the bottom of the table with just 2 matches left to play. The Daredevils, meanwhile, have won 6 matches till now and still have 3 more to play in the league stage.

Here's a look at the team which may play for Rising Pune Supergiants:

Batting

Ajinkya Rahane has been Pune's premier batsman in the tournament with 419 runs in 12 innings at an impressive average of just below 42 and including 6 half- centuries. The classy right-hander has received decent support from skipper MS Dhoni and Saurabh Tiwary, who have scored 220 and 153 runs respectively.

Thisara Perera has contributed in the lower-order with 127 runs at a smashing strike-rate of 160.75. Usman Khawaja and George Bailey, who had been brought in to replace the players RPS lost due to injuries, are yet to settle down and have been dismissed after getting some good starts.

All-rounders

Perera has undoubtedly been the best all-rounder for his team in their first season. Not only has the Sri Lankan scored quick runs, he has also been among the top wicket-takers for the Supergiants. The other all-rounder to have played quite regularly for them in the ongoing IPL is Rajat Bhatia, who has picked 6 wickets but hasn't had much of a role to play with the bat.

Bowling

Even though he has played just 3 matches, Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa has easily been the best bowler on display for RPS. The 24-year old is their leading wicket-taker with 8 wickets including a spell of 6 for 19, which is the best bowling performance in the ninth edition of the IPL.

Thisara Perera also has 8 wickets in his kitty whereas pacer Ashok Dinda and leggie Murugan Ashwin have picked up 7 each. Ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's form has been dismal and he has only managed to claim 6 wickets in the 12 matches he has played. Pune had tried fast bowlers Ishant Sharma and RP Singh for a few games but they failed to deliver.

Probable Playing XI

Usman Khawaja, Ajinkya Rahane, George Bailey, Saurabh Tiwary, Baba Aparajith, MS Dhoni (c) (wk), Albie Morkel, Rajat Bhatia, Adam Zampa, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishwar Pandey.

Chris Morris
Morris has been one of DD’s top performers this year

Here's how Delhi Daredevils may line up for the match:

Batting

Opener Quinton de Kock has been the best batsman on display for the Delhi Daredevils in 2016 season of the IPL. The southpaw has scored 381 runs in 10 innings and was the first centurion in the tournament this year. Sanju Samson has also been in decent form with 261 runs and so has Karun Nair, who has scored 222 runs including a couple of important fifties.

Rishabh Pant, who played for India in the recent Under-19 World Cup, has also shown a lot of promise with a tally of 161 runs in 7 innings at an impressive strike-rate of 140. JP Duminy has also looked in good touch, having scored 160 runs at a 50-plus average in 6 innings. The batting looks quite settled for Delhi but they will have to play even better if they want to help their team qualify for the playoffs.

All-rounders

Chris Morris has easily been the top all-rounder for Delhi Daredevils in the ninth edition of the tournament. The South African is the 2nd highest wicket-taker for his team this year and has also scored quick runs for them in the lower order at an incredible strike-rate in excess of 180. None of the other all-rounders have been able to make an impact for the Daredevils this season.

Bowling

Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been the bowling star for DD in this season with 13 wickets in 11 matches already and best figures of 4 for 11. Morris, too, has been highly impressive with the ball as he has claimed 11 wickets and boasts of an economy rate of under 7, which is an incredible feat in T20 cricket.

Their skipper Zaheer Khan has not done badly either with 9 wickets in the same number of matches. Imran Tahir has played a few matches in the 2016 IPL but has not been as impressive. Also, paceman Mohammed Shami has been a disappointment with just 5 wickets and an economy rate of 9 per over.

Probable Playing XI

Quinton de Kock (wk), Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant, JP Duminy, Chris Morris, Amit Mishra, Zaheer Khan, Imran Tahir, Mohammed Shami.
