Is one of the arrested bookies Sreesanth's cousin?

India v Australia - 2011 ICC World Cup Warm Up Game

Reports from Times Now state that they have obtained information from unnamed sources that one of the persons arrested with Sreesanth in the spot-fixing controversy is his cousin, and also allegedly a bookie for a betting syndicate. Jiju Pokkan Janardhan, the person in question, is reportedly Sreesanth’s cousin who also has been operating as a bookie. Janardhan was also said to have experience in domestic cricket.

Sources state that, living in Gandhinagar, Janardhan had played in the Under-19 and Under-21 squads but did not make it into the Gujarat team.

Sreesanth had later got Janardhan to move to Kerala and play in the Under-25 squad of the state’s team. However, he had failed there too and moved back to Gandhinagar.

Reports from NDTV state that the arrested bookies had made calls to Pakistan and Dubai, thereby leading to speculations as to whether this scandal is another case involving the Dawood Ibrahim gang.
