The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed details of the pre-match show that will be held ahead of the India vs Pakistan 2023 World Cup match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday. The show will witness performances from some noted Indian singers.

Rather surprisingly, there was no opening ceremony held ahead of the 2023 World Cup opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5. A captains’ day event was organized a day ahead of the start of the tournament, which saw all 10 captains answering questions from host Ravi Shastri and later the mediapersons.

BCCI’s official social media handles have now given out details of the pre-match show, which will precede the India-Pakistan World Cup contest in Ahmedabad. As per BCCI’s posts, renowned singes Sukhwinder Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, and Arijit Singh will be part of a "musical odyssey".

The pre-match show will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and will begin at 12:30 PM IST. The India-Pakistan 2023 World Cup match will begin at 2:00 PM IST.

India sweating over opener Shubman Gill’s fitness ahead of Pakistan encounter

The Men in Blue have got their 2023 World Cup campaign off to an impressive start, winning their first two matches in the competition. The hosts beat Australia by six wickets in their first game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Bowling first, they held the Aussies to 199 and recovered from 2/3 in the chase courtesy of Virat Kohli (85) and KL Rahul (97*).

India defeated Afghanistan by eight wickets in their next match in Delhi. They again bowled first and restricted Afghanistan to 272/8. In reply, skipper Rohit Sharma hammered 131 off 84 balls as India romped home in 35 overs.

Opener Shubman Gill missed both the matches due to illness. After being discharged from a hospital in Chennai, he arrived in Ahmedabad, where India will face Pakistan on Saturday.

According to reports, the 24-year-old batted in the nets for an hour on Thursday and also took part in some fielding drills. However, there is still no confirmation about the chances of his participation in the match against Pakistan.

Gill has a terrific record in the one-day format for India. In 35 matches, he has smashed 1917 runs at an average of 66.10 and a strike rate of 102.84, with six hundreds and nine fifties.
